‘Google Doodle Today’ honours Sir Ludwig Guttmann. A visionary, he trained people to deliver high quality Spinal Cord Injury care by looking beyond the confines of medicine, surgery and involve the wider team (nurses, physios, OTs, etc), paying attention to details for the care of the bladder, bowels, skin, sexual function, and fertility. At discharge from hospitals, individuals returned to adapted homes and were encouraged to go on holidays and participate in sports. I had the privilege of bringing this approach to other parts of the globe; so, did many others. In my journey, I consider that spinal units overall offer excellent care. Thank you, Sir Ludwig
